Help Us Reach $7,500 - Your Capitol Summit Impact Isn't Finished

Posted By: Michael White Advocacy,

We had a great day at the Capitol Summit on Wednesday, April 15. We had more than 60 PAs attending who had meetings with 28 legislators to promote our HB 4309, the PA Licensure Compact, and HB 5522, the PA Modernization Act.

The PA Licensure Compact will allow PAs to serve patients across state lines. The bill is currently in the Senate, waiting for a floor vote. The PA Modernization Act will limit how long PAs have to practice under practice agreements, legalize PAs delegating tasks to medical assistants, and allow new PAs to enter into practice agreements with experienced PAs.

These are dramatic times in the Michigan Legislature. If we are going to be successful in passing legislation to improve our practice environment here in Michigan, we need to be able to financially support Legislators who support our goals. We can have these events all day long but without your financial support for our Political Action Committee, we cannot succeed.

Our goal now is to raise $7,500 by June 30. With this financial support, we can get our legislation the consideration it deserves in the legislature. So here is my askIf you are a student, I need you to donate $20 to our campaign today. If you are an employed PA, I need you to donate $100. Please don't wait -- invest in your career today!

I thank you in advance for your support of our great profession.
