Professional Bio

Sara M. Wilchowski, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA is a nationally recognized PA, medical affairs leader, and educator with more than a decade of experience spanning clinical dermatology, pharmaceutical medicine, nonprofit leadership, and professional education. She has a passion for advancing the PA profession through strategic leadership, governance, education, and advocacy.

Dr. Wilchowski has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and clinical review articles, and has delivered invited podium presentations at national, regional, and state conferences on topics including dermatology, immunology, clinical research, and leadership. Her scholarly work has focused on inflammatory skin disease, psoriasis, the gut microbiome, vitamin D, and evidence-based clinical practice.

A passionate advocate for physician assistants, Dr. Wilchowski has held numerous national and state leadership positions, including Vice President of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), President of the Michigan Dermatology Physician Assistants, Chair of the Dermatology PA Foundation, and multiple committee and executive board appointments. Her leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including multiple Board Member of the Year awards and designation as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates (DFAAPA).

In addition to her leadership roles, Dr. Wilchowski serves as adjunct faculty and has developed and taught doctoral-level coursework in pharmaceutical medicine, and evidence appraisal. She is passionate about developing the next generation of PA leaders and helping healthcare professionals translate scientific evidence into meaningful improvements in patient care.
